So, a few days back, I was wandering around Amar Colony, just trying to figure out where to eat. I wasn’t really expecting anything new, yaar. Just one of those random “let’s see what’s there” walks. And then I saw The Colony Bistro. The sign looked chill enough, so I thought, why not check it out?
Honestly, at first I wasn’t too sure. The place looked small from outside, you know? But once I stepped in, it felt… nice. Not fancy, not loud, just a proper little café where you can sit and eat without feeling like you’re in some overhyped place.
I decided to start with the Thai Spring Rolls. I mean, how bad can spring rolls be, right? Turns out, these were really crispy. Not oily, just the right kind of crunch, and the spice wasn’t too much. It was one of those things where you eat one, then another, and suddenly you’re like, okay, this is good.
Then came the Piri Piri Veg Pasta. Not gonna lie, I didn’t have high expectations. But man… it was spicy in a nice way, saucy, and kind of comforting. Like, the kind of dish you want when you’re sitting alone, scrolling through your phone, and not really talking to anyone.
Now, the Quattro Formaggio Pizza. Ah, this one… soft base, loaded with cheese, and every bite felt like a little celebration. I also tried The Colony Fresh Pizza. Fresh toppings, soft crust. Nothing too fancy, nothing trying too hard. Just good pizza.
Oh, and the Dahi Ke Sholey! Golden outside, soft inside. Paired it with Garlic Bread with Cheese, and I’m not even kidding, I probably ate most of it myself. Sharing? Optional. Really depends on how generous you’re feeling that day.
What really stuck with me, though, wasn’t just the food. The vibe of the café was something else. Chill, simple, friendly staff. No one rushing you, no loud music blaring. You could sit, eat, scroll, chat, or just sit quietly. That’s rare, honestly.
And here’s a bonus — they’re open till 2:30 AM. So for all you night owls out there who suddenly remember you’re hungry at 1 AM, you’re sorted. Delivery is fast too. You could literally be in your PJs, binge-watching some show, and still enjoy a proper café meal at home.
I will admit, I wasn’t sure about the price at first. But then again, for the portion and quality? Totally worth it. And something about the place just makes you feel relaxed while you eat. Not rushed, not stressed.
