If they go through with their relationship, it is truly tried, tested and totally worth the hype.
December in Delhi is just that month, when the city is a bit softer, the overnight fairy lights appear, cafes start smelling like cinnamon and everybody is faking that winter is their best season. We have already done the digging, stalking and planning of our Christmas festivities, so here are our list of the top places to go during the Christmas season in Delhi and NCR, some highly fancy because, why not?

Christmas Earth Mela, Chanakyapuri.
6th–7th December
This is one which we visited at the end of last year, with the idea of paying a cursory visit, and found ourselves, to our own astonishment, remaining hours. Imagine earthy stalls, homemade gifts, environmental friendly decor, and that slow and peaceful Christmas feel that makes you forget that you are still in Delhi. It is the sort of place one can sit back and take time to have something warm, window shop without haste and even feel the holiday spirit.
Winter At The Lawns, Chanakyapuri.
6th December
It is like a light run-up to Christmas. We recall how we, as we were walking along, found the lights switching on, fairy lights all around, food stalls addressing us by name, and so on. It is ideal when you feel like feeling the festive mood without the middle of December crowd craze.
LMNOP Christmas Market, The Claridges.
9th December
Had Christmas a dress code, the most that this market could say is smart casual at the least. We tend to visit here whenever we are in need of shopping without colliding into the masses. Luxury brands, fine cuisine, sleek stalls, it is classy, edited and quite winter-delhi-elite.
Christmas Market 26 th German Christmas Market, Chanakyapuri.
13th–14th December
The thing is that this is something we cannot compromise on annually. You even get the smell of bratwurst before you get into the premises, mulled wine is going around and Delhi is now very European. We constantly find ourselves consuming far more than what we intended to consume – no regrets.
Chanakyapuri, Tamana Winter Carnival.
13th December
This one is community-driven, wholesome and warm. One day we went there believing it would take a short time, however, we ended up staying on the food, stalls, and relaxed atmosphere. Good idea in case you want to have a fun trip out that is both relaxed and family friendly.
Sunder Nursery, the Sorbet Soiree Christmas Market.
19th–20th December
Sorbet Soiree would be the winner of aesthetics sport. There are even pictures that we took last year that we cannot get out of our camera roll. Beautiful brands, indie labels, dreamy lighting, and Sunder Nursery doing their thing the best which is looking unreal. Go early, dress cute, and come back to us later.
Spotlight Events winter Wonderland.
21st December Gurugram
Here Christmas collides with party mode. Raucous tunes, themed decorations, alcoholic beverages being passed around and it is obvious that people are here to party. In the event that your vision of Christmas involves dancing rather than walking, this one is your venue.
5 ULTRA-Premium Christmas events.
These are on the days that you desire grandeur, opulence and climax of festivities.
Christmas Eve Show at The Leela Palace.
24th December
We were present at this by chance and we can say nothing but, it will make normal Christmas dinners a permanent part of our lives. Imagine gourmet spreads, live music, classy decorations and business-dressed customers. The ideal gift to spend once a year.
Christmas Brunch at The Imperial.
25th December
When you like to drive slowly and in an old style luxury, this one will never be beatable. We are talking huge spreads, classic interiors, and the type of brunch that you are so engrossed in time that you forget what time it is. Perfect Christmas Day, relaxing, luxurious.
Christmas and New Year Celebrations at the Shangri-La.
24th–25th December
Shangri-La celebrates every year in full style – themed menus, festive desserts, and modest chic. We embrace this in case we desire a sophisticated Christmas party without noisy crowds.
Christmas Special at ITC maurya Ditas / Prego Christmas Special.
24th December
This is one of the food-first people. We’ve just come specially to the menu of the festive and gone away very pleased (and very full). Elite combo = fine dining + Christmas flavours.
Christmas Eve Dinner Olive Bar & Kitchen.
24th December
Dim lighting, flowing wine, food beautifully plated out, Olive is doing Christmas in a very close intimate and romantic manner. It is ideal when you desire something merry but not bling-bling.
Final Word
Yes these are happening in December in Delhi and NCR, according to recurring editions and up to date listings. The dates and the formats could change a little, thus, never forget to check the official pages before going.
