1. Big Yellow Door (BYD), GTB Nagar -The Time-honored DU Comfort Spot.

BYD has something that DU students will never get tired of. Although the menu might have changed with time, the atmosphere remains unchanged on the same note, the ambiance is casual, warm, and good after a tiresome morning lecture. The yellow door is diminishing in importance; everybody has stepped through it at least once, be it their mythical Cheese Bomb Pasta or the Pink Sauce Penne or just simply a cold coffee that they are supposed to be too lazy to finish at home.

There is not much room but it is cosy and that is among the factors that students like. There is always someone going on about fest preparation, placements, or heartbreaks, and it just makes the place seem alive. BYD is also very pocket friendly and is perhaps the reason why it is always full regardless of the time of day. Their wraps and garlic bread is still incomparable to the cost, and the portions are markedly generous to the student budget.

It is a one of those cafes when you do not come in order to be luxurious, you come to be familiar. Due to that mid-semester comfort meal. That do-nothing-we-sit-somewhere. BYD has literally grown around DU children, and it still smells of it in every bite.

2. The Hostel Crowd Café, Hudson Lane -The Chillest Study Spot.

This cafe is like the sort of place that you enter with a backpack, with a mind that you are only going to spend an hour and you end up spending till evening without realizing it. It possesses that languid easy disposition that puts your mind at once into a state of repose. The use of soft lighting, warm decor, and spacing in the tables that allows one to have that bubble of peace, ideal to assess a group of work, writing an assignment, or simply doing any pending readings.

The menu is not complex but planned. Of course, their Hot Chocolate is unexpectedly good-creamy, comforting and it is definitely the item you end up ordering again. Sandwiches are fresh, fries are crisp and pizzas that feel like homemade food that students enjoy. The atmosphere is what is unique though. It is not fast or noisy as most of the spots in Hudson; it is one of the few places where you can hear what you think.

The Hostel Crowd Café is exactly what you are planning to do either as a North Campus student who wants to have a place to relax, or just a person who wants to have a whole day in a cafe without any interruptions. It is peaceful, cheap and cozy- just what a student friendly cafe must be.

3. Spezia Bistro, Hudson Lane – When You Feel Like You Want More.

Spezia, where students will find a little extra of what they are used to. This upbeat, joyful atmosphere of the café with its fairy lights, bright murals, and not too overboard menu is quite enjoyable. It is the type of establishment that is ideal in situations of birthday sweets, heartbreak recovery dishes, after-party feasts, and those we should eat something good today kinds of plans.

Their Cheese Wheel Pasta is the most prominent. Although you might not have ever ordered it, you have certainly noticed the person capturing the entire scene of tossing Parmesan in Instagram. The pizzas are crispy with proportional toppings, the momos are surprisingly tasty and their mocktails are refreshing and not sugary.

The thing is that Spezia can be both friendly to students and be a little bit premium at the same time. The atmosphere is ample, the staff fast, and the experience is on a notch higher than what the constitutes of the routine Hudson cafes offer. It is easy to spend two hours here and not notice how the time went.

Spezia is not the day to day place, but the place to treat yourself expensive enough to afford too. Fits well in parties, dates, or any day that you feel like having food that makes you feel happier in an instant.

4. Jack n Chill, Hudson Lane – Easy, Casual, Never in a Jam.

A mood-lightener is known as Jack n Chill. It is sunny, jovial, and possesses that air of unpretence that is popular with both first-years and seniors. The café does not make too much of an effort and that is the reason why it works. The decor is light hearted, the seating is cozy and the atmosphere is just in between lively but not too much.

Their menu is rich with crowd-pleasers, crispy fries, shakes that are over-loaded, comforting pasta and truly good sandwiches. The portions are bountiful, which is a plus as far as student groups are concerned. Their KitKat Shake and Peri Peri Fries have become near an official Hudson food item.

It can also be used as a quick hang by Jack n Chill as you do not want anything too fancy or loud. It is reliable, cheap, and entertaining. You enter, you have something traditional, you talk an hour and you go out feeling better. No pressure, no pretence–no more than a good time.

It is particularly an ideal cafe to go on a date or have an after-class party. Food that is simple but correctly executed and the atmosphere that is ever inviting to go back.

5. Xero Degrees, Vijay Nagar -To Full Night cravings and loaded treats.

Xero Degrees is incredibly specific in their personality bold, hedonistic and not at all ashamed of it. When you find yourself in the mood to have something loaded, cheesy or even saucy, then you automatically find yourself at this place. Their jars of Cheese Fries are almost symbolic at this point. Awkward and expensive, and somehow soothing after an tiresome and long day.

The size of the cafe itself is small yet active. Music is never slow, the staff are fast and the ambience has the midnight-snack feel even in the middle of the day. Their pizzas are hearty and their shakes are luxurious and the portions of pasta can be shared very easily by two persons.

Xero Degrees is a working concept since it provides precisely what students desire, which is comfort food that is quick and hits the spot. It is not a place to spend time, but it is ideal to take quick meals, order together or have a midnight craving.

You enter into a quick, enjoyable, gratifying experience. And frankly, that is just all you need.

6. Ricos, Satya Niketan Satya-niketan – The OG Chill Spot – Kids South Campus.

Ricos is the BYD of South Campus – the place that is familiar, safe and always the correct decision when there are no alternatives where to go. The cafe is this cozy, rambling, place that seems instantly recognizable regardless of being a first-year, who visits Satya the first time, or a final-year student who has only an hour to spend there, urging to have a quick final bite of their childhood. Bookshelves, snuggly booths fill the place and there is a certain atmosphere of a cafe that is conducive to protracted discussions.

The food? Reliable. Always. Their Waffles are a hit among the crowds, the Lasagna gives one the cozy feel of a warm embrace and the Chicken Quesadillas has enough followers to form their own club. Ricos is also excellent at proportionate portions and prices – one never leaves feeling impoverished.

This is special because of the vibe. You may come here when you are bored by a boring lecture at DU, or when you have had a fight with your roomie, or when you go to a cute-ish date at a situation relationship. It works for everything. Ricos has been able to remain pertinent throughout these years, as it has realized that students need comfort food, cozy places, and a low-budget menu, and you will never go hungry.

7. Echoes, Satya Niketan The Heartwarming Café With a Purpose.

Echoes is not just a cafe as it is an experience that you keep with you even after leaving. The whole cafe is operated by the specially-abled personnel and the system is simply brilliant in its approach. You use cue cards, placards, and light switches to communicate, you get straight to the point and it is easy, smooth and surprisingly heartwarming. Echoes aims to make food significant, and service intimate.

And the fare is truly excellent. They have student favorite products, their BBBQ Chicken Pizza, Cheesy Nachos, and stuffed Garlic Bread. The meals are rich in the shakes, the pastas are comforting and the amount fits well in the student pocket. And group orders are also their best bets — hence the reason you will always find large tables full of college students laughing, clicking photos and having a fun experience with the cue-card system.

The atmosphere is energetic without being loud, which is suitable during study breaks, gatherings with friends, or even intensive solo meals. Echoes is one of those destinations where returning is not only due to the food, but also the atmosphere it gives you, it is familiar, comfortable, and homely.

8. Woodbox Café, Satya Niketan — Feast, cheap, Never boring.

Woodbox is one of such cafe which seems to have been targeted at college students, bright colors, graffiti and on the walls, excellent lighting, and a menu that appeals to all student favorites. It offers both outdoor and indoor seating, and there is a variety that will satisfy every stylistic preference: one can study a long time there, have a catch-up plan, or even date casually.

Their sizzlers are the star of the show. They come hot, fragrant, and well-packaged – definitely enough to share with someone. Their Signature Mojitos, Peri Peri Fries and Dynamite Momos are equally loved. The cuisine is fun and comfortable yet experimental, that is why groups of people gather here on a regular basis.

Woodbox is also that sort of place that is Instagrammable without making any effort. You can post cute pictures, listen to nice music, and spend hours here without reaching into your wallet to empty it. It is not too loud and not too disorganized, not too cool or too snobbish, and it is one of the surest choices of Satya.

9. 2 Bandits, Satya Niketan – The Ideal Vibe When it comes to Groups and Early Dates.

2 Bandits is the cafe that you will visit when you feel like you need something a bit classy yet affordable. The inside is smooth; glass, warm light, cute decorations on the walls make it more classy than the typical student cafes. This is the best place to have birthday parties, meet-ups with friends and we are not dating yet this should be a date.

Their Mexican products are distinctive: the tacos are chicken crispy, the burrito bowls are hearty, and their loaded nachos can compete with larger companies. The shakes are rich and wanton, the pizzas are crispy and thin crust, and their Chicken Wings are rightfully under-rated.

The music is fast, the sitting comfortable, and the staff fast so as much as the cafe may be full (which it mostly is), the services do not suffer. It is a type of venue where one can easily spend several hours having conversations, laughing, and sharing plates.

The reason why 2 Bandits is working is because it has the right mix: trendy, delicious and cheap. Precisely, what a good South Campus cafe ought to be.

10. The Brew Room, SDA — Relaxing, Familiar and Ideal to Study in.

The Brew Room is a cafe shaped warm embrace. It is secluded in SDA Market, and is quiet, green, and gives the feeling that I can actually get my assignment done there, something that is hard to find in DU. The large windows, gentle lighting, and relaxing music ensure it is among the finest places to unwind after a hectic day at campus reading, working or simply relaxing.

Their coffee is truly one of the best coffee- it is thick, smooth and carefully prepared. The cold brew saves lives in the heat in Delhi and the Vanilla Latte is ideal on lazy mornings. On the food side, the Avocado Toast, Belgian Waffles and Mustard Chicken Sandwich are outright hits. Sections are concrete and fees are friendly to students and quality has not fallen below.

The Brew Room is also ideal in catching up with friends over long durations or even alone. You will find students cuddling in the corners typing, couples eating pancakes, and book lovers resting with cappuccinos and not feeling in a hurry. It is that coffee shop where time passes a little slower and that is precisely why it is one of the top options in the entire South and North Campus.

11. Café Tesu, Essex Farms- A Little Fancy A Lot Worth It.

Café Tesu is the place to go on those days of, we should treat ourselves – the days when you get out of college and can use a place that looks and feels a bit more mature. It is light with a great light and in a natural manner, it is beautiful and ideal on the occasions when you want to have birthday brunches or family visits or date days and want to impress someone but not so much.

Their menus are mythical: Truffled Scrambled Eggs, Chicken Florentine, Matcha-Pancakes and the Tesu Blue Latte – not in vain they are loved on Instagram. It has a menu that is tilted towards artisanal and global tastes, yet it remains comforting. Their desserts are also beautiful, particularly Dark Chocolate Tart.

Tesu is not the most affordable cafe in this list but it will have made the experience worth the additional rupees. Students usually visit here after exams, mini-celebrations or when they are fed up with Satya crowds. The personnel is hospitable, the atmosphere is high-end, yet lack of pretense, and the menu is never a letdown.

Had DU had a special-occasion cafe, it would be Tesu – hands off.

12. The Grammar Room, Mehrauli -The Aesthetic Brunch Bar With the Best atmosphere.

It is The Grammar Room, which is one of the most dreams-like cafes in the area of DU – the place, where you go to have sunshine, Instagramable dishes, and full-course brunch, which takes hours. It disregards greenery, is like a mini vacation within Delhi, and creates an atmosphere immediately with its bare, airy architecture.

It is a cafe that is all about the feel-good food. They have Smashed Avocado Toast, Shakshuka, Breakfast Sandwich, and Pancakes, that are the best in Delhi. The beverages, in particular, the Cold Coffee, Kombucha, and House-Made Lemonades, are cool, light, and ideal in the weather.

TGR is popular among students as an occasion during birthdays, project meetings, and weekends when they just want to get out of campus life. It is slightly higher but the atmosphere, the scenery, and the tastes justify it. But the best part? You never feel rushed here. You may work at your own pace and write in a journal, do work on your laptop or simply sit and observe the sunlight playing on the walls.

TGR is not merely a cafe, it is an entire atmosphere.

13. Perch Wine and coffee bar, Khan market + Gurugram- quiet, Classy, and Forever loved.

Perch is targeted to the DU child who prefers to stay in quiet areas, like good coffee, and relaxing areas. It is classy, not too impressive and friendly, not too cluttered, and makes you feel like it is one of the few places where your brain can breathe at the end of a busy week in the college.

Their pour-overs and espresses are among the best in Delhi and the Cold Vietnamese Coffee is an item that cannot be overlooked. The food menu is light and fresh and flavour-focused – consider Ricotta Toast, Grilled Chicken, Zesty Bowls, and fresh pastries. It is the way they use simple and high-quality ingredients that make each dish feel clean and satisfying.

Perch can also be used for group projects, working on your own or having a low-key meeting where you actually want to listen to the other party. The employees are amiable, the music is low-profile, and the atmosphere is never complicated but relaxed.

Visit Khan market outlet or Gurugram, Perch will make you feel like you are out of the city, that is why it is the best conclusion to add to this list of cafes of DU.
